Sussex Country House Wedding Inspiration: Modern Bridal Style with an Equestrian Influence.
Set against the backdrop of a beautiful Sussex country house, this shoot was about bringing together a modern bridal style with a refined rural setting. Inspired by British heritage and a sense of understated elegance, I wanted to blend clean, contemporary fashion with the timeless character of the countryside.
As a wedding and equine photographer, this concept came quite naturally from wanting to bring my two worlds together. Horses were never just an added detail; they were part of the vision from the very beginning. Equestrian style is often referenced in fashion, but I wanted to explore how it could translate into bridal in a way that felt more natural and understated, with the horses and the setting feeling like an integral part of the story rather than simply an aesthetic.
The structured silhouette of the gown was chosen to contrast softly with the natural surroundings, creating a look that felt both elevated and effortless.
I wanted this to feel like more than a bridal shoot with a countryside backdrop. Having horses involved from the outset meant the styling needed to sit comfortably alongside them, rather than compete for attention. The whole thing needed to feel cohesive, with a fashion-led approach that still felt at home in the countryside.
A different take on countryside bridal, bringing together modern styling, British heritage and a love of horses.
